Training Group for Youth
Psychological Network, Inc. is offering
an ongoing social skills training group for youth ages 8-11 (Group
1) and ages 12-14 (Group 2). The focus of the groups will be
to assist youth to interact more appropriately, enhance verbal
and non-verbal skills, learn anger management skills, recognize
and manage distractions.
The topics for the group will include:
Effective non-verbal communication skills
Effective verbal communication skills
Identify anger triggers
Learn anger management skills
Learn to delay reactions to situations
Recognizing and management of distractions
Friendship skills
Social Skills development
Prioritizing responsibilities
The group will meet weekly for eight
weeks with the option to continue group meetings. There is an
initial one-on-one meeting for families to learn more about the
group and review guidelines for the group.

Facilitator for Group 1
Rob Cracchiola, MS, Licensed Professional
Counselor: One of Mr. Cracchiola specialties is working with
clients who have developmental disabilities. He has served as
a member and President of St. Charles Coalition of Service Providers,
a network of agencies that promote improved services for individuals
with developmental disabilities. He also works with the Missouri
First Steps early intervention program as a Counselor and Program
coordinator.
Facilitator for Group 2
Melissa Strachan Kinser, Psy.D.,
Licensed Psychologist. She provides psychological intervention
to children, adolescents and their families and consults with
the legal system on a variety of forensic topics. She works with
youth with a variety of issues. Dr. Kinser specializes in eating
disorders and body image including anorexia, bulimia, compulsive
overeating as well as weight obsession and body dissatisfaction.
She has lectured nationally on the nature and treatment of body
image
